This spider is in my bathroom and I don't know what to do with it and if its dangerous I don't want to touch it. It doesn't seem aggressive at all but its been there for a while now and its about an inch big but I'm wondering if I should remove it if its dangerous and how I should remove it. I'm not going to kill it I just want to remove it safely from my room.|||First off, where you are in the world would be helpful (north america, uk, etc. dont have to be too specific) and is that a front picture? Because I have never seen a pattern like that before. Though it seems to resemble a huntsman. If you are in north america there are only two deadly spiders: the brown recluse and the black widow. Obviously it's not a black widow. Brown recluse's though are brown, small, slender legs, and have a violin shape on the head. If you want to get rid of it without killing it just take a cup, capture it, and put a book or a cd case over the top as fast as possible so it doesnt escape..and just throw it outside. If you do (for whatever reason) get bitten, do not be afraid to seek medical attention. Better safe than sorry (though I'm sure its fine).|||A bit of surprise, this is a harmless orb weaver, called a spotted orb weaver. With the colder weather, these are dying off,and they don't often show up indoors. Looks like you caught this one napping for the day,and at night, they can be found in the center of their fancy orb web.
Putting this little gal outside would be sending her to doom, but this is part of nature.
If you disturb her, she will probably run,or if overwhelmed, may drop from her web.
Getting these onto the hand is not easy, and they will just try to web off. If you can trap her in a small container (glass/paper trick) you can put her outside on some shrub, and let her finish out her life.
I don't recommend trying to 'keep' her,as she may not last the winter anyway. Also, if she lays eggs, they will hatch 'out of season' and the spiderlings will die also.
