How do you keep your bathroom walls from getting moldy?

Our bathroom was redone fairly recently (within the last 5 years) and the ceiling and tops of the walls are spotted with mold! Ewww! I don't recall that happening before, at least not to this degree. How can I get rid of it? And how can I prevent it? Is there a certain paint or a certain type of drywall that prevents this sort of thing from happening?|||Spray with a solution of water and Clorox, and lots of ventilation, ventilation, ventilation.|||Install a ceiling bathroom fan from home depot. The fan will have air circulating and taking all the moisture out of your bathroom. When you are done taking a shower open the window too. You will still have to clean some mold every now and then. The fan is the best way to go for, because it will take some of the bad smelly gas to the outside of the house when someone stinky takes a dump. Make sure is a strong fan too. Having a Fan will be more Fun. good luck. I bet you don't have one installed. That mold can come off with a rag and some bleach. use gloves and some mask, and open windows when you do that.|||bathrooms either have air vent with fan or a window, those would best be opened when bathroom/ washroom is damp, steamed, or humid, if there's mold now, then find a cleaner at store that is bleach based,

soft scrub or similar,

and note that if theres mold on the face of walls, there may be mold on backside as well, and would be wise to check or air out, and control house ventilation annually, if you can access sun or use UV-C Germicidal lamps to kill mold, and full spectrum to light room if needed,

..|||Hi, do you have paint on the walls to protect the drywall? Also, make sure you have a fan that it will clear any shower/bath steam for the square footage of the bathroom (use it each time). Maybe a window or opening skylight could have been a good idea. As far as I looked on google, Georgia Pacific makes a mold resistant drywall w/ a 6 month warranty. It appears that any big store including Lowes has it.|||after you take a shower, you should leave the curtain or sliding door open so it can air out. if your bathroom has a window, leave it open, and keep the door open or a fan on to dry off the damp air. that should do the trick.|||Make sure you have adequate air circulation by opening a window when showering or installing an exhaust fan. Also, make sure your insulation is good (poor insulation can lead to condenstation), and that there are no leaks in the roof.|||Sounds like the fixture may be separating from the wall. Spray bleach on it after every shower, and dont let the bathroom get too humid.|||open ur windows dont smoke alot. clean ur house clean the bathrooms. just remember to open ur windows especially went you cook|||To stop mold from occurring, you need to air out your washroom. Mold comes from moisture. If it is still a problem get a dehumidifier.
