This may be a little lengthy, but I am absolutely terrified, and lack the medical knowledge to explain what is currently happening to me.
I haven't had a problem with acne for years. Besides mild blackheads, and the occasional zit, I have an extremely clear and even skin-tone. I suffered from severe acne when I was much younger, but I can't recall anything this bad.
Around Thursday night (four days ago) I noticed a painful pimple beginning to form. So I used my regular routine for when this happens. I wash my face, scrub the area with an exfoliating medicine, and then put some tea tree oil on the affected area. However, by Friday afternoon, I noticed it was becoming a large knot that hurt to touch. Friday night it was unbearable. I continued my treatment, unaware of anything unusual, just suspecting a painful under-the-skin zit. By Saturday night it was huge, infected, and painful. I use toner frequently, so I visited the bathroom to apply it. I then noticed I had another INCREDIBLY painful cyst on my cheek. Later that night, one developed on my forehead. I was in extreme pain, crying profusely, and having a slight panic attack. These were no zits..
I have tried everything to cure it since Friday night. Since I thought it was cystic acne, I put a constant hot compress on each one. This had no results. I also tried a mixture of hydrocortisone, baking soda tooth paste, and extreme acne spot treatment. In the morning, Sunday, there was absolutely no change besides the baking soda burning the hell out of my skin!
I visited the urgent care center, and the doctor told me it was a staph infection. This terrified me because I'd never had one. He prescribed some antibiotics and I was on my way home. This evening, after no result, I made a desperate attempt to try ichthammol drawing salve, which also did not phase the "Staph".
I have several things I am questioning. The cause of the boils, first.
I don't know if it is staph or not, because there as no lacerations or injuries on my face, and I take fantastic care of my complexion. The doctor suggested that makeup might have clogged my pores. Because of my clear skin, I only use powder. I have been using the same brand for YEARS and it actually has a positive affect on your skin. I also read antibiotics rarely help staph, and mine have shown NO results. There is a chance it could be staph, because I have been struggling with what doctors believe is hypothyroidism. This has caused a series of health issues. I had incredible issues with constipation, and would lack a bowel movement for nearly weeks at a time. This was treated with a fantastic medication. I had an extreme problem with heavy periods, because I am anemic. This was treated with birth control pills. I had an issue with Eosiniphillic esophagitis, an allergic reacting that caused me to choke on pills several times. I had a very hard time losing weight, and was tired CONSTANTLY. Which was odd because I have always been very thin, being a dancer. These were all treated, but they ran a series of tests. I have almost all the symptoms, but the diagnosis has not been confirmed yet, my GI is booked until late next month.
Another reason I might have developed them, is the fact that I recently changed birth control pills. I take the pills to regulate my period, due to extreme anemia. I had wonderful luck taking two Loestrin pills continuously. (Together they were a dose of 50mcg, highest dose available) It was getting quite expensive, so we switched to Ovcon. I had good luck with Ovcon, and didn't even have breakthrough bleeding. Not to long ago, it was discontinued and I was switched to Necon, which is an INCREDIBLY low dose, compared to that of Loestrin. I had bad breakthrough bleeding and a small, but not abnormal breakout. Could the lack of hormones lead to the boils?
So my questions are:
What causes these boils? The staph by hair follicles or the thyroid causing a immune deficiency which allowed the staph to create boils? Or was it the hormone imbalance because of the switch of birth control mcg dosage?
If it is staph, will these boils reoccur?
What can I do to get rid of them, and FAST?|||If your skins feel really tingly and itchy then you continue take a medicine which you mention because according to you when you take this medicine you feel good that's why i say and you also consult the skin specialist.
