the whole bathroom is clean, in and around the toilet, the floor. I have even removed bathroom rugs to ensure no misfires are lurking.|||Even the best of cleanings can't get all the pee smell out from where the toilet seat attaches to the toilet: usually there are 2 little caps that can be pried up, then cleaned. Another very common problem is the wax ring under the toilet, either having been installed wrong or because the floor is uneven and the toilet 'rocks' a little, causing the wax ring to have a slight gap, allowing pee to leak, or at least the smell of it to enter the room...that little joy requires unscrewing the flange bolts, turning off and disconnecting the water supply line to the toilet and then removing the toilet in order to check out what's going on with that wax ring. Should it need replacing, look for the wax ring package that say "40% more wax" it's thicker than regular wax rings, makes a better seal. If you're not comfortable (or strong enough to lift a tank-and-toilet) hire a LICENSED handyman or plumber. While the toilet's removed, you'll have a chance to clean the floor under where the toilet was. have fun!|||Do you have men in the house? If so, you may have to wash the walls. What DO those guys do in there, turn in circles looking around while they should be taking aim??|||Be sure to clean the underside of the toilet seat.|||smell must be coming from around the toilet pan i think someone is missing it or is there a carpet(which has to be lifted)or a bathroom mat that is wet|||it's possible that the smell has seeped into the walls and flooring. I have 3 little boys who aren't very particular about whether they hit their target 100% of the time and I can tell you that it doesn't matter how much I clean or what I use you can always smell it. I can clean their bathroom in the morning and by bedtime it looks ands smells like a gas station bathroom. And if you haven't scrubbed the walls yet you might want to give that atry.|||Along with what plain jane said, never use cleaners with ammonia (ammonia comes from urine). Use vinegar water (we even used this to remove urine stains from carpet when we had a 14 year old dog with incontinence problems), or go to the pet store and buy a big bottle of Natures Miracle pet stain remover, yes it is made for pets, but pee is pee, use it to clean walls, floors, rugs, the toilet (take of the lid and clean there too). Natures Miracle contains an enzyme that breaks down urine to get rid of the smell. And if you have little boys (3-5ish, before they get to old to look in on) in the house, ban standing if you find wet spots where they don't belong. Tell them that standing to pee is a privelege that they have to earn and can be taken away, they will soon be more careful.|||it could be in the subflooring from old urine.. you might have to check to see if there is dry rot around your toilet.. and it might have to be replaced.|||You may need to replace the wax ring under your toilet. It's about $3-$5 and is very easy to do...directions are on the box. Sometimes these go bad, worth checking out.
Also, like other above me said. If men in the house, you may need to wipe down the walls...sorry about this!|||If the sink is infrequently used, the smell may be from the sink trap. If it is dry, it can allow sewer gases out. Try running some water down the sink every few days.|||The person needs to have a check up. Tell the doctor about the smell.
